The High Intensity ECN3 (HI-ECN3) project strives to extend the physics reach of CERN’s North Area to exploit the maximum intensity that the SPS can deliver and increase the beam intensity transferred to the ECN3 underground cavern by over an order of magnitude... Read more

HI-ECN3 Project

There is strong and growing evidence from both particle physics and astrophysical observations for the existence of physics Beyond the Standard Model that has so far evaded direct discovery in high-energy colliders.

The Beam Dump Facility (BDF) at SPS will offer unrivalled luminosity for the SHiP experiment to search directly for as yet, undiscovered, low mass Feebly Interacting Particles at a luminosity some three orders of magnitude higher than the High Luminosity LHC, in a parameter range not accessible to the LHC experiments.
